Last night, while laying in my bed, sipping my tea, I stumbled across a little article on Lifehacker about writer’s block, claiming a sure-fire cure to the common ailment. Although there’s much merit in this cure, what really took me was what it says about talking. The writer makes the point that no one suffers from talker’s block. The reason for this is that we talk so often and so much that we get good at it. Spoken words are cheap and easy to come by. This kind of bothers me. It made me think. What if we stopped talking? What if we’re better off shutting up? Will our words be more valuable? Will people actually listen to us? I guess it’s something I’m going to have to find out experientially. It certainly seems plausible.
